After a few changes, we are still finalizing our Symposium line-up but it now includes presentations by master stonemason M. Dany Roy, Dr. Lyn Green, Mr. Mark Trumpour of In Search of Ancient Egypt in Canada, Dr. Brian Muhs of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago, Prof. Kasia Szpakowska of Swansea University, and Prof. Carol Redmount of UC-Berkeley.
Prof. Redmount is the Patricia Paice Speaker.
The day will conclude with a tribute to the late Edwin Brock, given by Emeritus Prof. Gerry Kadish of SUNY-Binghampton.
The Patricia Paice Speaker
Patricia Paice was the Administrative and Membership Secretary of the SSEA from 1995 until her death in 2005. After her death, the Pat Paice Fund was established by a donation of books belonging to her, graciously donated by her husband Jeff. Proceeds from the sale of those books was used to pay the honorarium of a speaker (referred to as the Patricia Paice Speaker) in the SSEA/SÉÉA annual symposium. The first person to be so designated was Dr. Miriam Müller, who spoke at our 2012 Symposium, Cities in the Sand.
. Currently, all sales of books donated to the Head office of the SSEA/SÉÉA are used to keep this fund active. If you would like to donate books to help support the Fund, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The Fund also welcomes cash donations. If you would like to make a cash donation, you can download our DONATION form.
