This presentation has a theme: everything about Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and Egypt. That is Arthur Conan Doyle in Egypt, Arthur Conan Doyle writing about Egypt, his works with an Egyptian element, and things in Arthur Conan Doyle‘s life and career that are connected to Egypt. This will include – but not be limited to – some or all of Napoleonic connections, Lord Kitchener and Omdurman, Dervishes, camels, Nile cruises, foreign correspondents, undead mummies and their curses, Coptic monasteries, archaeology and colonialism.
