To the ancient Egyptians, iconography was a functional medium intentionally used and manipulated to communicate certain narratives and ideologies significant to their worldview.
This lecture will explore the relationship between gender and power in such representations as they appear in the iconographic programs of queens, particularly those who enjoyed the elevated status of the queenship during the New Kingdom Period.

All lectures are open to the public and free of charge.

This is a hybrid lecture: For further details: https://www.mediterraneanstudies.ca
